The Appointment: How it Works

Many people opt for multiple BBL sessions, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. We may recommend multiple sessions for you, depending on your skin concerns. The handheld device has a small component on the end that pulses flashes of light beneath your skin. It’s normal to feel a slight snap or pinch against the skin as the device works. Numbing gel is applied to the skin beforehand.

You may experience redness for a few hours afterward. You should be able to apply cosmetics soon after, if you wish to. Brown spots and areas of hyper-pigmentation may appear darker temporarily, as the pigment clumps up and eventually peels away completely. Our experienced staff will provide recommendations for skin care products while you heal, to keep the skin protected and hydrated. The fall is a great time to get this treatment since you will need to avoid direct sunlight for a while. Your skin will be especially sensitive to UV damage as it heals.

In several weeks, you’ll likely see a difference after your first appointment. Skin will continue to improve with successive BBL treatments.
